When we work with children and parents, we’re not just teaching skills or managing schedules—we’re building relationships. Every family we interact with comes to us carrying their own experiences, challenges, and hopes. Children may be excited, nervous, or even frustrated. Parents may be proud, worried, or juggling many stresses at once.

This is where empathy becomes one of our most important tools. Empathy is more than kindness—it’s the ability to step into someone else’s shoes, to see a situation from their perspective, and to respond in a way that shows understanding and care.
